Laughing Keeps You Healthy - Laughter is the Best Medicine – Keeping Laughter in Your Life

An infant's smile or a child's laugh is magical. Receiving a smile from an infant or child elicits an automatic smile from any adult. Parents, grandparents and adults alike will perform varying degrees of happy face antics in the hope of getting a baby to smile. Medical studies have determined that laughing is both contagious and healthy.I it's most demure mode, laughing will manifest itself visually as a smile maybe coupled with some wide eye contact. At the other extreme end of the laughing scale, you will realize Visual, Kinesthetic, and Auditory displays – leg slapping, belly shaking, body contorting laughter! Just thinking about this 'Laugh Attack' brings a smile to your face. Remembering or thinking about laughter itself physically and mentally emotes all the positive effects of actually laughing. The beautiful thing about laughter is that it is contagious. It matters not whether you initiate laughing or it comes from some other source, the health benefits of laughing have been studied and documented.Laughter is the BEST MEDICINE!Yet, laughter is still one of the least understood of human behaviors and one that is just now a serious study by scientists. Science has been able to determine three parts of the brain are activated during a good laugh: 1) a thinking or cognitive area for understanding the joke, 2) a movement or kinesthetic part for initiating muscle movement, and 3) an emotional region that derives the “giddy” feeling. Why do people laugh at jokes delivered while others laugh at incongruities like pain inflicted or a threatening situations? Is laughter a signal indicating a action is meant “in fun”? These things are still being studied. Laughter makes us (and others) feel better.Studies have identified a number of areas, where applying laughter, will be a positive and healthy experience. Feel better by laughing:1) Health and laughingA) lifts up your moodB) is contagious and positiveC) is stress reducingD) has proven long term connections to improved mental health2) Learning and laughter has shown thatA) levity as a teaching style reduces fear and anxiety and opens students up to learning and absorbingB) well-planned, appropriate, contextual humor can help students ingrain information 3) Relationships and laughingA) help create a social lubricant that, in groups, encourages cooperation and altruistic behaviorB) is believed to be one of the earliest forms of communication; especially, emotional communication. Laughter could have preceded the spoken word and bonded groups in pre-historic society.“By the time a child reaches nursery school, he or she will laugh about 300 times a day. Adults laugh an average of 17 times a day.” “Science of Laughter” Discovery Health Clearly as adults we do not laugh enough. Here are ten ideas to improve and increase laughter [and fun] in your life:1) Receive, Share and Tell Jokes - email is awesome for this and so are social gatherings. Telling jokes (and learning what jokes are appropriate) will prove to improve your social and public speaking skills.2) Share humorous personal stories - stories about yourself will allow you to laugh at yourself. Laughing at yourself is a great way to express and learn from our mistakes and little foibles.3) With your family and friends play group games that require group interaction (Parlour Games) - old standards and board games (like Charades, Pictionary, Balderdash, Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, Humzinger) or more organized themed events like a Murder Mystery Night. Excellent for a varied group of age and shyness. These are just FUN! Play like children!4) Laugh out loud - not just a chuckle, a deep laugh that works the lungs and belly (maybe even brings tears to your eyes). Laughing equals Happy and Happy equals Healthy!5) Karoke or new video games like Guitar Hero - whether at home or at a public event, singing and music are excellent and fun group situations that will help create fun and laughter!6) Meet your group at a favorite pub or watering hole - conversation and stories will naturally make you laugh. Have fun!7) Play Kids' Games - nothing allow you to play like a child than playing with your children or grandchildren. And nothing is more liberating than laughing with children! 8) Learn with friends - experience learning a new language or go to dance class with other people or couples. Laughing will open you up to a better learning experience.9) Host a Party (maybe with a Fun Theme (item 3) - a casual informal gathering (BYOB, BBQ, Campfire or Dinner Party) will always give people an opportunity to meet and share. Invite fun people and you will create a fun and memorable event.10) Do something you have never done before - with other people or friends, step out and do something new (community fair, site seeing, small airplane ride, hot air balloon, casino, a day at the track, snowmobiling, skiing). With a group you have both the benefit of increased support and protection. Have fun!Fun and Laughter is best in a social group setting. Do Not attempt Laughter alone. It is best served with friends. Get Crackin' and Get Laughin'!

The Wonderful Imagination by RYAN BIDDULPH

Motivation,Self Improvement,Spiritual

The human imagination is the faculty which separates us from all other life-forms. We have been bestowed with the gift to build an image in our mind which will help to determine our future. Every other living thing in this universe can only grow into what nature intended it to grow into. Humans, with the mental tools of free will and an imagination, can choose who they want to become through the formation of clear pictures. With practice our imagination will be able to form vivid images which will accelerate the creative process. People, events, and circumstances will become attracted to us to aid in the fulfillment of our mental picture.
This is a concept which most people have not fully grasped. Whether we utilize our imagination to build fantastic pictures in our mind or we use our physical eyes to view what is going on around us, the imagination is working constantly. We are always forming images either with our physical eyes(viewing results) or with our mind's eye(visualizing). It's up to us to decide which type of pictures we form and hold. The more consistently we hold our picture we will begin to attract all things to create that picture on the physical plane.
The practice of sitting for 30 minutes everyday and seeing things as we want them to be will assist one immeasurably in believing in this power. With consistent visualization we are overtaken by a feeling that there is a creative power at work for us. We know that physical activity is necessary to receive whatever we ask for, but the most important part of our day is to sit quietly and visualize exactly what we want. By thought we attract what we want to us, and by action we receive these things. This is a two-step process that most are unaware of. Most focus strictly on the receiving factor, and this translates into "hard work." This is a competitive mindset. People feel that they are competing against others for their rewards and try to out-work everybody else to get them. We should try to adopt a "smart work" mentality. For each 4 hours spent working spend at least 15 minutes visualizing. Put more effort into thought(magnetizing) and less effort into action(receiving).
The super wealthy and happy have mastered this technique. We see how they started with a vision or dream, and as they continued to hold this vision and perform any tasks necessary on this plane, their tremendous results came to them accordingly. If we take a hint from these successful icons and put more time into building a desired image we will see bigger and better things move into our lives.

Home School Options by REDD T

Education,Family & Parenting

If you are unhappy with the public education system or want to teach your children your values when it comes to education you can choose to home school your children. Many people choose to homeschool their children giving them individual teaching of lessons and personalized lessons. The best thing about home schooling is that you can teach them your values, not the values of a stranger that is their teacher for that particular school year. Many home schooled children go on to college and getting advanced degrees. There are many options for home school curriculum you can buy programs that will give you daily lesson plans as well as yearly lesson plans telling you exactly what to teach each school year. The curriculums that you purchase may or may not include books and all the material that you need to complete most assignments. With some curriculum you will still have to purchase more supplies in addition to the material that came with the curriculum. There is also the option that you have where you can make your own schedule and create your own lesson plans this way gives you the most freedom in what you are teaching your children. This way can also be the least expensive way. If you choose to create your own lesson plans, you can tailor your lessons to fit your mission. You can get a general ideal of what lessons and material that your children should be covering in that school year if they were going to a public school, then create your own lessons for the semester or the year.
Many parents do create their own home school lesson plans. If you have several children that you are home schooling this is the least expensive way to do it. You can buy used textbooks that are cheaper than purchasing new, With the Internet you can get many free home school worksheets for every grade and every subject. If you buy textbooks you can go online for that website of the textbook and even have your children do extra activates to enhance their daily lesson. This is all free that will help your children grasp the lesson. Many times these sites will have additional worksheets that you can download for more enhanced learning opportunity, Always check out the websites for any text book for additional resources. Pros and Cons of Online Education by TAMMY GREENE
Education

As obvious, the term “online education” or “distance learning” simply means what it implies. Through eLearning or distance education programs, students have the capability to enroll in classes that are carried out completely over the internet. Classes are conducted from online colleges and universities across the world, and all that is needed is a bit of motivation from the student’s side to acquire his/her degree online.
In the past couple of years, online education has gained much popularity, as traditional along with online-only colleges began offering distance learning courses after realizing that there are individuals out there who have trouble attending regular classes due to hectic lifestyles. There are numerous reasons why one should opt for eLearning, while on the other hand there are reasons why institutions providing online education are not all that well-reputed.
Pros of Online EducationThere are numerous benefits of acquiring online degree, and those already enrolled in distance education programs know the true worth of the education they receive. The most prominent benefit of studying online is that neither the student nor the teacher has to travel long distances to attend classes at a particular location as eLearning can be conducted from just about anywhere in the world. The courses and online degree programs are carried out over the internet, through online learning management systems, internet char, real-time lectures, webinars etc.
The second benefit is that online students have the capability to study at their own pace. In a traditional setting, students need to finish their given assignments within a particular period of time, while through online education they can study whenever they are free. The online faculty assigns projects with a deadline and students can finish their projects at whatever time they find feasible within that particular deadline.
This leads us to the third benefit of online education, which is that those enrolled in an online college or university can easily balance work, family and their studies, thereby fulfilling all commitments. Instead of being away at a traditional college for about 8 hours a day, they can easily spend time with their family or even carry out work-related tasks while studying online.
Cons of eLearningJust like anything else in life, eLearning has its disadvantages as well. First of all, there is the downside of there being no face-to-face interaction between the student and the professors. Even though they CAN meet outside the World Wide Web once in a blue moon, but it just does substitute for the entire social interaction that takes place in normal settings. Professors and students just do not get to know each other the way they do in a traditional classroom. Another con to the entire eLearning experience is that the college or university individual’s enroll in might not be properly accredited.
There are numerous benefits of proper accreditation, but it is of utmost importance for those who are willing to seek employment upon graduation. Not all online colleges and universities are accredited and you need to make sure that you go for one which is properly accredited and recognized state-wide.

Direct Loans For Students by JIMMY CHUANG
Education

Direct loans for full and part time students are an alternative loan option that typical Stafford or Perkins loans that are done through private loan companies by the federal government. Direct loans differ from these loans because the funds are provided directly from the Department of Education to the student, without the use of a loan company or agency. Direct loans are very similar to the typical Stafford or Perkins loans and can be either subsidized or unsubsidized, depending on the financial ability of the student and what type of loan they will qualify.
Students applying for either federal government student loans or direct loans have to complete the same process, which starts with completing an online FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This form will identify the student as either dependent, or requiring information and signatures of the parents, or independent, not requiring this information. It will also provide information on the schools you are considering as well as the amounts of loans that you can qualify for based on all other types of grants, scholarships and other funding sources. Once you have received your SAR or student aid report and your school also receives the same information you are then able to decide if direct loans are the best option.
One difference between direct loans for students and traditional federal government loans is that all students are required to sign a Master Promissory Note or MPN. This note basically is a contract stating that you will pay back the loan to the Department of Education as per the terms of the loan agreement. There is no option to modify these conditions once the MPN has been signed and submitted, so it is very important to ensure that you understand all terms and conditions contained in the terms of the loan.
All direct loans are capped at a specific amount per year, depending on whether or not the student is categorized as dependent or independent. Independent students receive a higher loan amount per year, although only a portion of that amount can be subsidized. Subsidized loans do not get charged interest while the student is in school as well as during grace and deferment periods of the loan. Dependent students may or may not be subsidized up to the total amount of the loan per year.
Direct loans have a set interest rate, plus they also have a loan fee that will be up to four percent of the total amount of the loan. This loan fee is used to help keep the program functioning plus it will also help to balance out any differences in the fixed interest rate of the loan over the variable interest rate of the market.

What Actually Does Feng Shui Mean ? by QUINTIN CRAIG
Education,Self Improvement

Feng Shui What it means

There are things in the universe that we simply cannot escape like taxes, death etc. But there is one more thing that guides our lives whether we believe it or not, whether we are black or white. We are all living in a world that has symbols and it dictates our lives whether we like it or not. It’s true when you think about it. Just look at the traffic signs all over the place left and right. But there are also the symbols that are non-visible. For example there are the meanings of words.

To us who lives in America or have the Occidental philosophy, the people from the Orient and all their mumbo jumbo seems a little farfetched for us.

Feng shui is basically a way to draw to you the positive energy there is in the universe. To help a person with that a series of symbols (signs) are employed.

Because what we desire above all else in life (health, money, to be happy) these are the symbols that appear everywhere for those who practice Feng shui. So as you can see, we might have different cultures, but in the end, we all want the same things in life whether we’re Chinese or Canadians. So what is wrong with a little help?

Here are a few beliefs according to Feng shui followers:

People that want money try this popular method. They cut a red ribbon in 9 pieces and they attach three coins together. They are then attached to a doorknob. To those addicted to numerology it makes sense because 9 is the highest number in a series from 0 to 9.

For protection, the Chinese get Fu dogs (not real ones) and they place them on the stairs or in the entry. By protection we mean protection of the home not physical.

Have you ever been mesmerized by the soothing sound or the magnificent sight of a water fountain? Well, many others are. Europeans just go nuts over this item. They even put it in their homes sometimes. If you’re becoming an addict to Feng shui, get one if you want more cash coming your way.

Taking care of the environment is a must for the people that practices Feng shui. A few examples of this is cutting the grass, burning fallen leaves etc. It could be anything to make the landscape prettier. The Orientals will do every thing that we do (us Occidentals) but they believe that this will bring them good life forces or the chi.

If you want to have good luck then you can try the following: Get a fountain or a pond in your backyard with 9 fishes in it. There must be eight goldfish and one black fish. Gold will attract the good luck and the bad luck will be taken by the black fish.
This was only one of few possible things to improve your life. Feng shui is a way of life and it does look like other philosophy, but in the end, you will see that it’s not quite the same.

Sociology: How past experiences affect your life by NICHOLAS TAN
Education,Self Improvement

Sociologist Herbert Mead developed a theory known as social behaviorism, which helped explained why past social experiences help form an individuals’ personality. Mead did not believe that personality was developed by drives or biologically, but more on terms socially. He stated that the self only developed when people interact with one another. Without the interaction of other people an individual can’t develop a personality. An example of this is if a child is left in total isolation for a long period of time then they don’t mature both physically or mentally.
Next, social experience is crucial, and this includes the exchange of symbols. Only people attach meanings to words and symbols. If you tell a dog to sit and it obeys then you may give it a snack. However, this doesn’t mean it knows why to sit down, but it does so to get food. You can tell a dog to sit for numerous of reasons such as wanting to impress your friends, or to calm it down because it is running all over the place. Also, Mead noted that understanding individual intentions is critical. This will help us to analyze how an individual will respond even before we act. For example, when we’re driving we all anticipate what others may do because of experience. If an individual behinds you is speeding up rather quickly, then you can assume that they are about to switch lanes, or you can assume that they are in a rush and need to get somewhere quickly. Mead refers to this as taking another individual’s role.
Another important theory that is related to social behaviorism is the looking-glass self. This is basically like mirroring what we think others think of us. If we think others view you as being “good looking,” then you will see yourself as being good looking, or if you think people think that you are fat then you will have that image of yourself. People take the roles of other people during development. Infants have very little knowledge so they tend to mimic others. Children often have creative minds and take on roles of other significant others or people such as parents that have a special importance in their social development. For example, children will play house in which someone will take the role of a mother while another take that of a father. As they age children will learn to take various roles and adjust to their surroundings. As we continue to age we will continue to see changes in our social life. There are a lot of critics of Mead’s theories and some claim that he focus too much on the society in developing an individual’s behavior. Another sociologist Erik H. Erikson stated that unlike Freud who believed that personality was pretty much set in stone in the first couple of years of an individual’s life, that personality changes in stages and occurs all the way up to death. His theory is not all that accurate as well, because people experience changes in different orders and time.
Through all of the disagreements, sociologists generally agree on this main idea, and that is that the family has the greatest impact on an individual’s socialization abilities. When an individual is an infant they have no control and usually rely on their parents and family members to help nurture them. Through family they learn several of communication techniques such as trust, culture, and beliefs. Don’t get me wrong, not all learning comes solely from family; they can come from the environment as well because in a lot of cultures they use the environment to help raise a child. I guess the saying is true in which it takes a “village to raise a child.” It may not be surprising to you that different social classes tend to raise their children differently. An interesting survey that happened in the United States compared what a lower class family would want in a child compared to that of an upper class family. A lower class family would usually favor obedience and conformity while an upper class family would tend to favor creativity and good judgment (NORS, 2003).
Have you ever wondered why? Well the reason is lower class workers tend to have jobs that they must be very obedient in and are highly supervised. Subconsciously they are gearing their children towards that route and will even use physical punishment to achieve it. In upper class workers they tend to have jobs that inspire individuality and creativity which is very similar to the traits they would like to have in their children. School also has a large effect on an individual’s personalities. If you think about it you spend a huge chunk of time each day at school. It’s also interesting to note that children tend to play with people as the same race and gender, and that boys are more physical and aggressive while girls are more well behaved. Boys also tend to find abstract activities more interesting like video games and girls tend to be more artistic.
The same thing follows when they get to college because boys tend to major in physical sciences, and computing while girls usually major in humanities and arts. In school is where children discover peer groups or individual that has similar interest as themselves. People tend o indemnify more with their peer groups and can have conversations about things they understand like clothes, music, and style. Peer groups are a way for individuals to escape adult supervision, and people are usually more out spoken in peer groups. During the adolescent years people tend to identify more with their peer groups because they identify themselves as an adult and that is also a time in which parents are concerned about who their children hang around because they know that who they hang around influence their behavior deeply. During these years the mass media heavily affects individuals as well. Studies have showed that television have made people more passive and lesson their creativity. In the United States we spend he most time watching television and own the most T.V sets per household.

Once you have the answers to these questions and the important information to back them up, then you're prepared to look for the right school for you. The bachelor of accounting degree online programs offered by schools proliferate all over the Internet, and each one of them are different. Some aren't up to par with what you want to achieve, and you have to make sure they have the right licenses to teach and the appropriate accreditations. However, there is one college that is not as prestigious as Harvard but is just as respected and accredited by students worldwide -- DeVry. For that, you need to investigate about your chosen university and you will be required to do some research before applying.

Education

In this age where skill and technology has urban so greatly that discoveries appear to have no end, it still seems that the devotion about aliens wait a mystery. Are they heartfelt? Few people receive to have seen an alien. These claims faced a lot of questions, and eventually discrimination.
Most people don’t think in the being of aliens. They incentive out that “as far as we know, we are the only form of life.”
• The entire universe is not limited to our world, earth. It is certainly viable that there are other parts of the universe where life is viable. After all, earth is like a grain of sandpaper in a extensive coast. • It is not surprising that there are a lot more that our skill cannot comprehend lacking since for ourselves.
However, logically tongue, the being of aliens is a big possibility. Life exists here in earth, the universe is one colossal world, and it is viable that life is existing anywhere also.
The nest doubt is, do they really come here on earth? This doubt is hard to answer. Are they planning to invade earth? If our world is just like the movie Men in Black, then you might want to look around you. However, our world is not a movie, thus no one can safely simulate of this, but the God Himself.
Area 51 has been in doubt for a very long time now. Rumors are that this region 51 deals with trust the being of aliens a enigma. However, this has been answered with a contradiction about the simple being of this region 51.
Faced with the assumption that aliens subsist and that they are able to come here, and also that a enigma ritual is protecting the “secret”, we start to ask, why would they keep it a enigma? certainly, again, we are answered, “there are no aliens.” However, when we try to accept this as a statement, we read a lot of equipment about them. In statement, how did someone come up with the idea of aliens? Or maybe we can also research. Who first claimed of since an alien, and how did that self know that what he saw was called “aliens”? Is this just another artifact of others’ imagination? What do they get from claiming that aliens subsist? Let us simulate then that these people who receive and think in the being of aliens enjoy a lot by baffling others. Is this even important? Or do they get rewarded liability this?
The purpose is that with every section of information we are given, everything will appear to be just a idea, or an imagination, or even a prank. With every bit of information, we get more perplexed.
The being of aliens still remnants a mystery. When will we unearth this mystery? Or does it even theme? Will it profit us if we attest their being? Will it give us harmony of heed if someone can say that there are no aliens? The piece on Aliens is printed by Unexplained Mysteries. For more information, holiday profilingtheunexplained.com. St Nicholas Grammar School
Author:
http://www.katizo.com

The History of St Nicholas Grammar School
IN 1992...Marie Claire Heerah founded ST Nicholas Grammar School. The lack of suitable infrastructure was the main difficulty encountered during start up. The founder had a precise idea of what she wanted the school premises to be and it was quite difficult to find the right building.
Colonial house was found in Quatre Bornes more precisely in Bernardin de St Pierre Avenue, next to the loreto convent of Quatre Bornes. St Nicholas Operated there for three yeras until until sufficient fund was raised to build our own school. The Building work ended in August 1997 and the children were pleased to start their term in a brand new school.
St Nicholas is one of the most popular saints of the christian church. He has been the patron saint of children since the middle ages and many miracles were credited to him. It can be observed that St Nicholas has always been linked to children in various ways and that a school should bear his name will seem quite appropriate.
During Storytelling hour for the young ones who join our school in level 1 ,St Nicholas' tales "Saving the children" is one of their favourites
The term "Grammar School" implies that the children have certain aptitudes that are required to handle our rather intensive curriculum. This is illustrated by the entrance examination which is conducted on a one to one basis in the presence of the child's parents. Admission of children to St Nicholas Grammar School is conditional to their success at this examination.
St Nicholas is recognized among the best private schools in Mauritius including its low cost payments.
Is there a secondary St Nicholas?
We have a secondary St Nicholas, nevertheless we have not reach the higher School Certificate yet. Our secondary exists since two years and it consists of two form 1, two form 2 and two form 3.
About the books used
The system of education is similar to other primary school, i.e our pupils take part in the Certificate of Primary Education examination nevertheless the level is higher. The books that our pupils use are different from those in other schools.
What about the system of Education?
The system of education is similar to other primary school, i.e our pupils take part in the Certificate of Primary Education examination nevertheless the level is higher.
